Student Email - Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Start accessing your new student Cloud Email account:

Go to:
Username:  (This is not an email address)
Password: zPass (This is the same password used for myUNSW, Moodle and Uniwide)

Your email address is or for example or 

Students undertaking UNSW Foundation Studies and Alumni will not be impacted by this upgrade.

  Is my email address changing?

No, your email address will not change, continue to use your email address.

 Can I continue to use my (zMail) mailbox)?

No, your zMail mailbox has been disabled

 I have a Staff and Student mailbox, what will happen to my data?

Instead of having two separate mailboxes with different login details, you will now only have one mailbox.  To access your mailbox you will need to enter the following credentials:


Password: zPass

Data from your Student mailbox will be moved your staff mailbox, to learn more, please refer to the FAQ ‘How do I access my new mailbox data?’ 

 Will my mailbox size change?

Yes, the size of your mailbox will increase to 50GB, you can now also access OneDrive that provides you with an additional 1 TB of  data storage.

 How do I access my Microsoft Office ProPlus products?

To access the Microsoft products, log into the Office 365 Portal using the following URL. ( ) you will have to enter your new credentials:

 What is Microsoft OneDrive?

After the upgrade you will now have access to Microsoft OneDrive with file storage of up to 1 TB which allows you to store your documents safely and access your files from anywhere on any device.  You can also share and work together with other students.

 I have an Alumni and Student status, how do I access my mail?

If you have an Alumni status, there is no change to how you access your emails, you will continue to use your zMail account.
